Flea Bops are a family thing with brothers Preston (guitar) and Lance LeBeau (drums) and Lance’s wife, Wendy (upright bass, vocals). The band began as a four-piece April 1992 and performed regularly until the untimely passing of their lead singer, Ronnie Joyner, in March 2022. Since then, Flea Bops have continued to play as a trio with upright bassist, Wendy, stepping up to the microphone.
Lance was a founding member of the late, great Go Cat Go. Preston and Wendy led side projects with Lance, namely as the Twilite Ramblers, and Wendy LeBeau & Her Beaus, while keeping Flea Bops their main focus. Flea Bops play traditional rockabilly with a carefully curated collection of original and cover songs. They have travelled to Las Vegas and Spain to perform at festivals and have put a lot of miles on the vans over the years performing throughout the US.
The band has released original music on singles and full-length releases on the Vinylux Records label, as well as being featured on numerous compilations with other labels. Keep an eye out for an upcoming release with new recordings!
